TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Cancellation Policy
Registration: If notification of cancellation is made in writing to the Conference Secretariat prior to Friday 23 February 2024 a full refund will be given (less a AU$175 processing fee). After this date no refund will be given, however a substitute delegate may be accepted. Refunds for registration add-ons (workshops, dinners etc) will be given at the discretion of the Conference Secretariat.

Accommodation: Cancellation of hotel bookings should be made through the Conference Secretariat in writing. For any guaranteed rooms cancelled within 30 days, a charge equal to one night's accommodation per room booking will apply. All guaranteed rooms cancelled at or within 14 days prior to arrival will incur 100% cancellation fee, total to the value of your entire accommodation booking. Cancellations and changes should be made in writing through the SSA Conference Secretariat only at ssaasm@dccam.com.au

Photography
There may be photographs taken throughout the conference and at the social events. These may be used for promotional activities, including the IFIC website and social media. If you do not want your photograph taken, or used, please notify the photographer onsite at your earliest convenience.

Liability / Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. Neither SSA nor DC Conferences will accept liability for, but not limited to:

  • Damages of any nature (including financial) sustained by participants, or loss or damage to their personal property in the event of industrial disruptions or natural disasters, loss;
  • Loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference or through cancellation of the Conference;
  • Loss of international/domestic air fares or accommodation through cancellation for any reason;
  • Medical Expenses.

All delegates are strongly advised to take out insurance cover for their registration, travel and accommodation in the unlikely event of non-attendance or conference cancellation. 

Force Majeure
The Organizers and co-Organizers of the Meeting shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance of its obligations hereunder to the extent such delay or failure is caused by fire, flood, strike, civil, governmental or military authority, acts of God, acts of terrorism, acts of war, epidemics, the un-availability of the venue or other similar causes beyond its reasonable control and without fault or negligence. For one or more of such reasons, the organizers and any co-organizers of the Meeting may postpone, reschedule or cancel the event without liability on the part of organizers and co-organizers of the Meeting. In the event the meeting cannot be held or is postponed pursuant to this section, the organizers and co-organizers of the Meeting shall not be liable to attendee for any direct, consequential or incidental damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodations costs, or financial losses.

Delegates are strongly recommended to take out a suitable travel insurance policy including coverage for non-refundable registration fees when you register for the meeting and book your travel.

Letter of Invitation
Please note that our policy is to only issue a letter of invitation to an international delegate once registration and full payment has been received. A letter of invitation from the conference does not guarantee entry into Australia. Please email ssaasm@dccam.com.au to request a letter of invitation after your registration and payment has been submitted.
