Invitation

On behalf of the Spine Society of Australia and the Scoliosis Research Society, I extend a warm invitation to all to attend the Spine Society of Australia 25th Annual Scientific Meeting combined with the Scoliosis Research Society Worldwide Course to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre 10-12 April 2014. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Spine Society Annual Scientific Meeting and we encourage you to attend this special milestone in our society’s history.

The SRS Worldwide Course will include presentations on aspect of adolescent scoliosis during the first day, the following morning we will cover adult scoliosis and will switch to an abridged SSA annual scientific meeting with the theme of  Issues in Cervical Spine Surgery; Focus on Arthroplasty.

We are pleased to announce the following invited international speakers for the Spine Society Meeting; Professor Daniel Riew from St Louis USA and Dr Edward Benzel from Cleveland Clinic USA.  

For the Scoliosis Research Society Worldwide Course we are pleased to invite Dr Steve Glassman (President, SRS) from the Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville USA, Dr Rajiv Sethi, Seattle USA, Dr John Dimar, Louiseville, USA, Professor Hee-Kit Wong from Singapore, Professor Marinus De Kleuver from Holland and Professor Manabu Ito from Japan.

Brisbane is a diverse city with a bright and relaxed atmosphere, boasting a warm climate most of the year. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Australia and is the gateway to an array of beautiful destinations in the state of Queensland.

At this meeting, we look forward to engaging in many academic presentations and discussions both in the Scoliosis Research and Cervical Spinal Surgery topic areas. The Scoliosis Research Society Worldwide course will run for 1.5 days on Thursday and finish at lunch time on Friday. The Spine Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting will cross over with the SRS course and run for 2 days from Friday morning to Saturday evening.
