Pre-Conference Workshop
The Safe Use of Fluoroscopy Units

Date: Friday 19 July 2024
Time: 12.30pm - 5.00pm
Cost: Early Bird: $550 | Regular: $575 | Late: $600
Workshop includes afternoon tea

Overview:
Ideal for staff who require a radiation use licence to operate fluoroscopy units or staff who would like to refresh their radiation safety knowledge.

Recognised MED1 Course (Victorian Department of Health).

There is a mutual recognition process between interstate licensing authorities (if you are registered to use radiation for medical procedures in Victoria, you can use this license to apply for registration in NSW). Pragmatically, licensing authorities will accept evidence of training that is approved by another state as long as they can verify that it is approved in that other state.

NSANZ has strongly recommended that members who are also Fellows of the ANZCA Faculty of Pain Medicine apply for procedural endorsement recognition. One of the requirements is that an applicant demonstrates evidence of radiation safety training. Completing this course can be used as evidence of radiation safety training as part of the application for the Procedures endorsement program.

Inclusions
3 hr presentation, electronic course notes + assessment

Assessment: Multiple choice quiz at end of course.

Certificate: Issued on successful completion of the presentation and multiple choice quiz

Note: application for a radiation use licence must then be made by the individual to the Victorian radiation regulator (Department of Health) or equivalent."
