The Neuromodulation Society of Australia and New Zealand, the 2022 NSANZ Conference Secretariat, DCC&A, and Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, is focused on ensuring the health and wellbeing of all conference delegates. While we are very excited to be connecting in person again, we want to remind all delegates that some parts of the conference will look a little different than the last time we met face to face.
Please note, these protocols will undergo regular review and will be updated in line with Government recommendations.
Before attending NSANZ 2022
All delegates are required to monitor their own health and wellbeing. If you are feeling unwell, have been in close contact of a confirmed case, have the slightest of symptoms or are COVID-19 positive, please do not attend NSANZ 2022.
If you are unable to travel between Friday 12 - Sunday 14 August due to you being COVID-19 positive or being considered a close contact, the NSANZ will offer a credit towards registration for NSANZ 2023. Please provide documentation in support of your claim e.g. from your GP or employer, to the Conference Secretariat.
Onsite at NSANZ 2022
- Hand sanitisers and antibacterial wipes will be readily available throughout the venue including in the exhibition and session rooms.
- Attendee numbers will be monitored, and some conference sessions may be limited based on room size and the existing regulations.
- No handheld microphones will be available for delegate use during Q&A portions of the sessions. This year, all questions must be sent through the conference app only.
- Sofitel Melbourne on Collins will adhere to current social distancing protocols and provide regular cleaning and sanitising in public areas.
- Conference Secretariat staff will be wearing masks at the registration desk.
- The Sofitel Melbourne on Collins follows Victorian Government COVID-19 Guidelines for face mask wearing.

We strongly encourage all delegates to wear masks throughout the conference. Additional masks are available from the registration desk if you forget yours or need a replacement over the weekend.
What to do if you become unwell during NSANZ 2022
We strongly encourage all delegates to bring a few Rapid Antigen Tests with them. If you become unwell during your time in Melbourne, please do not attend the conference or visit the NSANZ 2022 Registration Desk.

COVID-19 Positive Delegates
What to do first
Firstly, please do not leave your hotel room and do not come back to the conference.
Delegates who test positive to COVID-19 whilst in Melbourne must isolate in suitable accommodation for 7 days from the date of their positive test. Must call the Melbourne Department of Health on 1800 675 398 (if positive result is from a PCR you do not need to report your result). Guest staying at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins
Should hotel guests tested positive during their stay at the hotel above, they will be required to self-isolate in their room pending accommodation availability and advise the hotel immediately. The hotel will provide all assistance to those guests completely contact free until they are able to relocate home or choose to move to a government isolation facility.
Accommodation is subject to availability and will be at guests own costs.

Other Local Hotels
Delegates who have booked accommodation elsewhere, will need to contact their hotel directly to find out if they can continue to stay on there, or if they will need to be moved to a dedicated quarantine hotel.
Victorian Quarantine Hub
If COVID-19 positive delegates are unable to secure suitable accommodation, then they need to contact Melbourne Department of Health to be placed in a designated quarantine facility. The Victorian Quarantine Hub is a purpose-built facility, designed by experts in public health and infection control, for people needing a safe place to isolate.
