Shed Tour A

Raymond Terrace Men's Shed

The Raymond Terrace Men’s Shed was founded and incorporated as a not for profit organisation in 2011 following the identification of a need within the local community for this concept. The Shed was officially open for use by Councillor Glenys Francis on the 4th August 2012.

The Raymond Terrace Men’s Shed currently operates from the former disused fire station at 51 William Street Raymond Terrace. The Shed operates for general shed activities 4 and a half days a week with the first and second Friday of each month assigned for member computer tutorials.

Salamander Bay Men's Shed

The Salamander Bay Men’s Shed opens five days a week from 8am to 1pm. Members can attend for companionship, undertake personal projects, woodwork, metalwork, mechanics, electronics, crafts and social activities as well as many community projects.

The Salamander Men’s Shed is unique in that they source most of their materials from the adjoining Recycling Centre. They market their products through the Recycling Centre and have market days.  In Port Stephens there is nothing thrown into garbage bins that does not get a second look by a dedicated group of volunteers working to find 'useful' junk. The members also refurbish computer hardware and meet the steady market for an affordable PC.

Members of the Men's Shed bring with them a range of skills and, like most Men’s Sheds, from a broad background including trades people, bank managers, farmers and teachers.

Fighter World

Fighter World is dedicated to preserving the proud history of fighter aircraft operations in the Royal Australian Air Force.
Fighter World is a totally ‘hands on’ experience. Exhibited in two hangars, delegates can walk-around, touch and look into the cockpits of such famous aircraft as the Mirage III, the Avon Sabre, the Gloster Meteor, the first Vampire jet built in Australia and new in 2013 the mighty F-111. There is a Russian designed MiG-21 jet fighter, Hawker Hunter, WWII Spitfire replica, a Messerschmitt replica and much more.
