Christian is both a researcher and clinician, who regularly treats persistent sports related and musculoskeletal pain patients in Melbourne. He is a postdoctoral research fellow and the Communications Manager at the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre. He is an Associate Editor and Deputy Social Media Editor at the British Journal of Sports Medicine, as well as Associate Editor at Physical Therapy in Sport. With more than 50 peer reviewed publications, Christian’s research is focussed on the knee, running injuries and knowledge translation including the use of digital innovation. He is a regular invited speaker both in Australia and internationally and runs courses on knee and running injury management in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and Scandinavia.

Body in Mind Research Group, University of South Australia

Emma is a Physiotherapist with extensive experience as a Clinician and Educator and is a current PhD Candidate at the University of South Australia in the Body in Mind Research Group.  She was the first allied health recipient of the RAH Research Foundation Dawes Scholarship and was awarded the 2014 and 2015 RAH Allied Health Clinical Research Grants.  Emma’s current research extends her career interests in pain science and the biopsychosocial management of low back pain - to investigate the usefulness of prognostic screening and how clinicians can optimise patient reassurance.

Mater Hospital, Liverpool Hospital & Inner West Pain Centre

Dr Joanna Lee is a Neurosurgeon working at Mater Hospital, a Pain Physician at Liverpool Hospital and at Inner West Pain Centre. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at University of Melbourne in 2003, and post graduate Neurosurgical training in Sydney in 2014. She has interests in general Neurosurgery (Spine, Neuro-oncology) and Pain Medicine (Spine, Neuromodulation). She is a fellow of Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS), member of the Neurosurgical Association of Australia (NSA) and International Association of Pain (IASP).
