Following Anaesthesia training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, a Pain Fellowship was completed at The Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospital, Sydney. After several years on staff at these hospitals, Malcolm returned to Melbourne to contribute to the development of pain services at the RMH.

Steven is an allied health pain coordinator and occupational therapist working at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Pain Management Services. In his current role, he provides quality leadership to a team of clinicians working at the Pain Management Services and he is also passionate about exploring the individual and community impact of persistent pain, particularly in relation to performance and participation

Dr Tim Semple is a pain medicine specialist and anaesthetist in the Department of Anaesthesia, Hyperbaric Medicine and Pain Medicine, Royal Adelaide Hospital since completing fellowship training in 1991.

His clinical practice is equally divided between pain medicine and anaesthesia. Tim is a past President of the Australian Pain Society and a director of the Australian Pain Relief Association. He is Supervisor of Training in Pain Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is on the Education Committee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Dr Twigg completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University, following a Bachelor of Psychology where she was the recipient of First Class Honours with University Medal. Olivia’s PhD thesis explored the psychosocial aspects of persistent pain. As such, she is particularly interested in the role of negative social perceptions about pain and interrelationships with self-concept, psychological well-being, and unhelpful pain cognitions. More broadly, Olivia has experience working in a variety of hospital and community settings. Therapeutic techniques typically centre on cognitive-behavioural therapy, however her practice is also informed by acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. Her approach to sessions is patient-focused, with a compassionate and empathetic style that aims to help people feel more confident and empowered to manage their pain.
