Welcome

Invitation to APS 2025: Melbourne

The Australian Pain Society (APS) are delighted to welcome you back to Melbourne, from 13 – 16 April 2025 for the 45th Annual Scientific Meeting.

It has been 13 years since we were last in Melbourne, and as one Australia’s most vibrant, diverse and multi-cultural cities we are looking forward to a diverse program that showcases the breadth of pain management research, education, theory, and practice.

For APS 2025, the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) has once again curated an outstanding list of national and international speakers including:

  • Professor Tamar Pincus: Professor in Health Psychology and Dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Southampton (UK)
  • Professor David Bennett: Professor of Neurology and Neurobiology and Head of Clinical Neurology at the University of Oxford (UK)

Autumn is a beautiful time of year to be in Melbourne. The meeting will be held at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, overlooking the picturesque Albert Park Lake (home of the Australian Grand Prix) and perfectly located between the Melbourne CBD, St Kilda and Chapel Street precincts - all of which have their own special character and are renowned for their restaurants, café-filled laneways, cool bars and local music and art scenes. The National Gallery of Victoria, Royal Botanic Gardens & the Shrine of Remembrance are also within walking distance or short tram ride away.

For those who wish to escape the city and explore the surrounding regions, Melbourne is the gateway to countless world-class wine regions and the beautiful, rugged coastline of Bells Beach and the Great Ocean Road beyond.

On behalf of the APS Local Organising Committee (LOC) and SPC, we look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne for an exciting meeting and a memorable stay!
