This panel will open up discussion on the use of psychedelics in pain management. Psychedelics are used more often outside of pain management and there is a lot to learn from use in other settings including the barriers to implementation, regulatory approval, clinical development for pain and other disorders.
The panel will begin with an introduction by Dr Claire Foldi. Dr Foldi, Senior Research Fellow from Monash University, will open the session with an overview of the broad therapeutic potential for psychedelics, and which types hold the greatest promise. A/Prof Mick Vagg, the Director of Pain Matrix and Former Dean of the Faculty of Pain Medicine will provide clinical insight into current ketamine treatments, through a patient interview.
Finally, join an expert panel including, Dr Paul Liknaitzky, co-founder of Australia’s first purpose-built psychedelic-assisted therapy clinic, Dr Daniel Perkins, Senior Research Fellow and Co-Executive Director at Psychae Institute and Dr Emily Tunks, Research Trial Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist and Founder of Embody Being, as we deep dive into the potentials and pitfalls of psychedelics in pain management.
