On behalf of the Australian Pain Society, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us in Canberra, Australia’s Capital, for the 43rd Annual Scientific Meeting from 02 – 05 April 2023.
Canberra is said to be derived from the local Ngunnawal word Kambera- translating to meeting place and we are excited to offer you this invitation to meet, to participate in our stimulating scientific program, to renew old acquaintances and make new ones, take up the many opportunities our city has to offer with the aim of emerging energised, refreshed and with invigorating new insights into the management of pain.
The Scientific Program Committee is thrilled with the two fabulous and engaging international speakers:
They will be joined by an exciting range of national speakers illustrating where Australia is at the forefront of pain management and pain research, with a diverse range of presentations and workshops exploring some of the most complex, challenging, provoking and dynamic areas of pain management in an exciting program.
The strength of the ASM is reflected by our diverse membership. This includes a strong core of researchers in both basic sciences and clinical medicine with wide ranging interests. As well as clinicians in all disciplines managing pain, creating exceptional opportunities for networking. This offers a great opportunity to catch up on contemporary practice in one’s own field, attend leading workshops in others, and to look via the researchers at what future directions our field could take.
Canberra is host to a range of Australia’s national attractions and galleries. APS 2023 runs right into the Easter Weekend so why not join us for the conference and stay on in the nation’s capital to enjoy: the Australian War Memorial, National Gallery of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, Questacon, Parliament House, the National Mint, the Australian National Botanic Gardens and one of my favourites for a coffee: the National Arboretum.
Canberra is called the bush capital and is surrounded by readily accessible trails for walking, cycling and mountain biking for those wanting to get outdoors.
Please join us for an inspiring program, visit the national galleries, meet new friends, find old ones, indulge in our great restaurants and soak up all the capital has to offer.
