The first and only Aboriginal tour of nipaluna/Hobart
This walk of nipaluna and its waterfront follows the route taken in 1832 by a group of 40 members of the Aboriginal resistance, as they progressed to the old Government House to negotiate an end to the Black War. takara nipaluna – Walking Hobart – gives voice to the palawa (Tasmanian Aboriginal) perspective and continued presence within this modern city, exposing the layers of history beneath the asphalt.

A personal recommendation, spend three adventure-packed days exploring the remote Southwest wilderness of Tasmania, staying at a private camp and enjoying delicious meals prepared from local produce and tasting the best wines that the region has to offer.
DC Conference & Association Manager Director, Dianna Crebbin enjoyed this experience in late 2019. She writes:
I have often wondered about the SW Wilderness of Tasmania around Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour but really had no idea of the expanse and sheer beauty of this area until my husband and I joined the SW Wilderness Camp for a 2 night stay. It's hard to describe this area. It's peaceful, silent, extremely beautiful, ancient and vast.
We were superbly looked after in the very comfortable permanent huts in a tea tree forest on the water. Our guides were knowledgeable and great story tellers who knew the history of the area and the characters who had lived there. We learned so much about the geology, nature, forests and waterways and had time to reflect and unwind. A wonderful experience and we hope to come back.
