Invitation to APS 2014 Hobart Conference

On behalf of the local organising committee of the Australian Pain Society’s 34th Annual Scientific Meeting, it is my great pleasure to invite you to Hobart from 13 – 16 April in 2014.

The theme is “Personalised Pain Management –  Quest for the Holy Grail”, and the conference will provide an extensive program including pre-conference workshops, international keynote speakers, national speakers and topical sessions.

We are very fortunate to have three outstanding international speakers in Dr Jane Ballantyne of Harvard University, Boston, Professor Jeffrey Mogil of McGill University in Montreal, and Dr Andrew Moore of the University of Oxford.

I invite you to Hobart to not only take advantage of the conference, but to sample in what Tasmania has to offer in terms of fine food, locally produced wine, art and natural beauty.  Visit famous Salamanca market on a Saturday, enjoy one of the many hiking or mountain biking trails on Mt Wellington or visit the enormously successful MONA with colleagues during the conference dinner.  The conference is very close to Easter so consider extending your stay and visit the pristine beaches and wineries of the East coast or head to Cradle Mountain and see the changing of the colours of Australia’s only cold climate, native winter-deciduous tree.

I look forward to welcoming you to Hobart in 2014.
