The Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia & New Zealand, New Zealand Rehabiliation Association and DC Conference & Association Management are committed to producing environmentally friendly events.
Since 2022, RMSANZ have been planting a native tree for every registered delegate that attends an RMSANZ ASM.
Following the success of this program we will be working with Trees for Survival, a New Zealand based organisation who work with schools, landowners and sponsorship partners across New Zealand to put environmental education into action.
Their action based environmental education programme supports school communities to nurture, grow and then plant native plants in areas they’re needed the most - protecting and restoring habitat in streams, wetlands, erosion-prone land and retired farmland.
In 2024, students from 213 schools running the Trees for Survival programme grew and planted over 164,000 native plants. RMSANZ, NZRA and DCC&A look forward to contributing to this initiative in 2025.
Delegates have the opportunity to purchase additional trees through the registration form.
